The Heart of Dixie is what Alabama is frequently known as, and it is because this state offers a sweet home Alabama hospitality that can not be matched elsewhere. While most southern states are traditionally conservative by nature, Alabama is a liberal state with a gay friendly atmosphere. Because of this, you will have no trouble locating Alabama gay clubs when you are visiting Alabama.
As you can guess, most of Alabama's gay scene will be found in its largest cities of Birmingham, Mobile, Huntsville, and Montgomery. In any of these Alabama cities you will find gay friendly communities and a huge selection of gay clubs.
In Mobile, you will want to check out B-Bobs. B-Bobs is known as Mobile's friendliest gay bar, and is open every day at 5 PM. Located in Downtown Mobile you will find Gabriel's Downtown, one of the more popular of Alabama's gay clubs. This is because the crowd here is mixed and there is a different scene every night.
Birmingham also offers a good selection of clubs. At Club 729, there is a fun crowd that caters almost exclusively to women. On Sunday and Wednesday nights you can enjoy Karaoke and bring out your inner entertainer. The Quest Club in Birmingham is one of the more elite Alabama gay clubs and is a private club to the gay community. There is a cover charge from Wednesday through Sunday, but you will love the private shows every Friday night and the eclectic gay crowd at one of the most famous of Alabama's gay clubs.
When in Alabama you will also want to check out Huntsville's Club Upscale. Club Upscale is another exclusive locale but offers Alabama's largest alternative complex.
